How to Properly Sanitize Your Cell Phone

Ring! Ring! That’s your cellphone calling and it wants be cleaned. According to Seattle Times journalist Bobby Caina Calvan, “your phone is covered in germs: 25,127 bacteria per square inch, to be precise. This makes cell phones one of the dirtiest objects we come in contact with every day.” Answer the call to clean with tips from Colorado Springs’ top rated cleaning service, us, and your phone will be sanitized in just a few minutes.

It’s super simple to get your phone clean and really only requires a few items. Here’s what you’ll need: soap (we love Castile soap, but any soap should work), warm water and a dry rag. With your supplies gathered it’s time to get to work.

First, take off your phone case and set it aside. Grab your dry rag and give your phone a little dusting with it, you just don’t want crumbs and dirt sticking around for the next part. Take your soap and put a couple of drops into a small bowl of warm water. Mix that cleaning potion together and grab your rag.

With your rag take the corner and dip it into the soapy water. You don’t want an excessive amount of water dripping from it, just enough where your corner is clearly moist. Carefully take your wet corner rag and start wiping down your phone. Avoid any crevices or holes. Get the front and the back and the sides. Then give your rag corner one more little dip in your cleaning solution and do the same for your case.

Now give your phone a few minutes to air dry and return it to it’s case. If you have a microfiber clothe you can run that over your screen to get any smudges off and really make it shine. Aim to clean your phone once a week (or even every couple of days). Even though you’re looking at it all the time we know it can be easy to forget. We recommend setting an alarm or putting it on your calendar so you never miss a cleaning day!
